How to install it on Windows 10? My disk says PAL-CD-10138A. The book is dated 1998 and I haven't used it for almost 20 years. I had used Family Origins until recently and this program sounds/reads that it should be better. I tried to install it and the PC said it was not compatible with the Windows 10.

Ultimate Family Tree appears to be an application archived on the Archive website. It means that the official domain has been discontinued, but Archive kept a copy for different reasons as it's doing with practically all the websites in the world.
That's the main reason why the software can't be installed on Windows 10. It's because of compatibility. Applications from 90' are not compatible with Windows 10.
The only thing you can do is to run the application in Compatibility mode. Right click the executable/installer and choose Properties > Compatibility. Select a previous version from the list and then run the software.
I have an old copy of Ultimate Family Tree (Windows 3.1, 95, MAC. Copyright 1997). I now have Windows 10 on my computer and would like to resume my ancestry hunt. Is there an upgrade of this program available?

No, there is no update for this program to run it on Windows 10 operating system. This software is extremely old and lacks compatibility with the latest Windows 10.
However, there is a way to run the exact same version. Install VirtualBox and then install Windows XP inside Virtualbox. Of course, you will need a Windows XP installation, but I have seen messages on forums where users succeed installing Ultimate Family Tree.
Yes, it's too late to update the application, since it has been discontinued. The only way to access the website is through the Web.Archive.org website, but that is useless as well, since the packages are not compatible with latest versions of the operating systems released.
I recommend accessing the Mac App Store to look for an alternative. Once option is Family Tree Builder: http://www.mackiev.com/ftm/
The application will never work on a Windows 7 computer because it has been discontinued. This means that it does not have any updates available, nor other versions are released.
I have recently had to upgrade my computer and as a consequence have now moved to Windows 7. Are there upgrades available that will allow me to access my existing Ultimate Family Tree data?

The application isn't compatible with the Windows 7. The products dates from 1997 and the Windows 7 operating system isn't compatible with it. You will need to install Windows XP through virtualization then you will be able to use it again. Download VirtualBOX and use the built-in help to learn how to create a virtual machine, then install Windows XP and transfer the application in that environment. You should be able to use it this way.
Note: A Windows Install Disk is required for this operation.
